Martin Fowler’s OOPSLA post give a clear explanation about Post-Modern Programming. I can see now that my thoughts and concerns about positivistic programming, is part of a greater underlying current in our culture. Feels fine and encouraging, but it’s a bit hard to convince positivists about it, and I meet some in my daily work.
I think it’s important for everyone to find out where one’s opinions and concerns come from, often personal background and culture. To know yourself, it’s important to know your context as well.
Software patents clearly belong to the modernistic school of thought.
